This planned breeding was with FC Salmys Morgan MH and Kay-Jay mid January 5, 2025.The pups were whelped March 5, 2025 and will be ready for their forever homes starting May 31 2025. They stay with us getting much love, socialization, experiential learning, chipping, extensive health care including eye certification, AKC registration and training of their basic skills over the 12 weeks. We expect six to eight pups to enter the ranks of home and hunters. You can learn about our preparation, training, and socialization program at our website www.windmillhillkennels.com on the Puppies page. As well as, learning about our three previous litters. You can also look us up on Facebook or YouTube to see our training videos.

Sire: Cutaways of Salmy's FC "Morgan" MH Bred by Mike Wallace Trained by Mike Wallace and Morgan Haglin owned by Jim Brueggemann Morgan is a black and white male with steady drive in the field, easy attitude in the house or while training and hunting. He possesses a solid nose and has great biddability. He is a stocky springer weighing about 50 pounds. We have followed Morgans career from a puppy as he was trained by Mike Wallace who has trained several of our springers and is the breeder of our gal KayJay. We have followed Morgan the past several years in both field trials and hunt tests. Morgan holds a Master Hunter and Field Champion title from the AKC and has completed several HRC tests as well. Morgans pedigree includes several Hall of Fame dogs on both sides, and we watched his sire Badger since he was a puppy. Most of all, Morgan is a happy, biddable dog, loves to hunt and when it is time to end the day, he is the perfect, calm, house dog. OFA - Hips Good, Elbows Normal Eyes Certified RD Clear, DNA Test Report Clear DOB 05/24/18 Weight 50 - 52 Pounds

Dam: Salmy's "Mountain Morning Kiss" of Windmill Hill - Kay-Jay Bred by Mike Wallace Trained by Mike Wallace and Anthony E. Baker, PhD Kay - Jay is Tony's "ray of sun shine" because watching her makes him feel warm and fuzzy. She is from a breeding of Mike Wallace and received her initial training from him. We adopted her August 2022 and Tony has been training and hunting her since that time. We fell in love with her at first sight. Her movements when quartering were flowing and her face was always smiling. She reminded us of a dancer on stage. We think she will be a great match for Morgan and possibly another well bred Master Hunter because she has the wonderful drive, nose, and marking ability and is graceful afield. Although Tony has not had her waterfowl hunting yet, he plans to do so in the 2024-2025 season because she is line steady and excels at water retrieves. She is also an exceptional companion in the home when the day is done. She has her spots where she goes to nap or comes to one of us for some lap time. Her line includes seven AKC Field Champions, including National Champion Salmy's Master Piece who is in the Hall of Fame and two AKC Master Hunters. She has hunted pheasants, quail, and chuckars in various cover in NH, WV, OH and NC. OFA - Hips Good, Elbows Normal Eyes Certified RD Clear, DNA Test Report Clear DOB 07/20/21 Weight 40 - 42 Pounds

FC Morgan MH shares all of the biddability traits of the Crosswinds line and is equally capable hunting, trialing, and hunt testing. Kay-Jay is as loving in the home as she is dynamic in the field. Super nose and quarters like a gazelle. We have had the pleasure of watching them both develop into wonderful companions for the home and field over many years. Both have numerous dogs in their four generation pedigree with many AKC titles and awards including Hall of Fame placements. For these reasons we believe this litter will be exceptional. You can see the litters pedigree going back four generations at our website www.windmillhillkennels.com on the Breed & Train page.

The Prepared Puppy Approach
Our prepared puppy approach begins by focusing on four critical elements of the initial individual and social learning, and modeling processes instinctive in a canine:

1. Developing positive learning motivation drivers through re-enforcing a puppys internal desire to learn by displaying behaviors that will get them rewards. In our case the rewards will be treats, play and praise, or bird related fun.

2. Developing self-control so a puppys ability to learn extends to inhibiting typical instinctive reactive responses. Hup is constantly used (at dinner, at the door, at play) to begin the development of the all-important steadying. The Short Pip whistle command will follow as soon as Hup is learned. This first step leads to a pup that will remain calm and steady when tempted by distraction.

3. Developing core behaviors so a puppy so a pup is ready to more easily transition to their forever home and later begin their gun dog training. This includes, house training, bathing, traversing stairs, crate training, recall, retrieving, Masters Voice gunfire conditioning, gamebirds (quail) and swimming.

4. Developing socialization and adaptation skills by experiencing a number of new and strange environments in a positive and supportive manner. This leads to calm disposition desired in a companion hunter and the ability to adjust when they encounter a new environment be it with people, other dogs, terrain, weather or even game birds they are not familiar with hunting.
