About a month ago, I lost my senior setter very suddenly and tragically. In grief, we were looking around for a new older female to bring home. I spotted a blue belton bitch that I just fell in love with and leapt without doing research on the breeder, King Llewellin Setters. On delivery, she was thin and stained yellow. The pictures we were sent of her were not recent. They also told us she was 11, but our vet told us by her eyes and teeth there was no way she was 11. When pressed and given her microchip number, it was discovered that she was 6. For a baseline, we did full body X-rays, including hips. She has severe hip dysplasia. She is also heart worm positive. The bitch has 14 wk old puppies on the ground and when we told them that she has HD, they said they knew it was in her line. We did ask for our money back as we are looking at hefty vet bills. They said they would, if we returned the dog. But Im not willing to do that as we know she wont get the proper vet care and treatment. Just wanted buyer beware if looking at king Llewellins.
