Hunting Dog Breeds Raised: American Brittany
Georgia Mountain Brittanys is a family kennel owned and operated by Bradley & Emily McEntyre, located in Dahlonega, GA. We breed AKC American Brittanys (formerly known as Brittany Spaniels) We have one/two litters per year and thoroughly enjoy connecting with other families who love the Brittany breed.
While hunting with friends in a local quail club here in North Georgia, Bradley was made more familiar with the Brittany breed. Upon seeing first hand the superior hunting skills of the breed as well as the great temperament and socialization we decided to add a puppy to our family. In 2008, we chose our first female Belle out of a great litter of pups from a friend in our hunt club. It was great to know her parents and a plus that she comes from a champion blood line. Belle is an excellent hunting companion and great family dog.
In January 2012 we added to our Brittany family with the addition of a stud dog Buster who also holds an excellent pedigree and beautiful stature for a male Brittany. It was a blessing to find Buster who is such a friendly dog and fit right in with our family. He is an eager hunter and makes a great complement to Belle. But at the same time he has a great laid back personality and enjoys playing with our kids. *updated: we were saddened to have to say goodbye to our friend Buster, who passed away Spring 2014.
In March 2013, we were excited to bring home GA Mountain JOSIE from Waypoint Brittanys. Josie is an orange/roan female Brittany who also maintains the champion pedigree heritage that we are proud to offer at GA Mountain Brittanys. As we began our search for another female to add to our kennel we fell in love with the roan coloring offered by Waypoint Brittanys. It has been fun for our family to once again raise a Brittany in our home from puppy age and prepare her to hunt alongside Belle and our other dogs.
And in Spring 2013 we were fortunate when Bradley was talking with another fellow breeder/friend to hear of a young female Brittany possibly in need of a good home. B.B. is a beautiful standard Brittany - white with orange coloring who offers an excellent AKC pedigree. Most notable is that she is grand-dam to Nolan's Last Bullet 32x NSTRA champion, 6x American Field Champion, American Brittany Hall of Fame and NSTRA Hall of Fame. Read more about her pedigree here. B.B. is such a sweet girl with a very gently and sociable personality. She loves our kids and any chance to snuggle up with one of the family. She has also proven to be another great hunting companion for Bradley and the boys.
